NUS Business Analytics Centre AI Scholarship and Fund 2026
Gift structure
The NUS Business Analytics Centre (BAC) received two gifts totalling S$1.5 million, announced on 7 August 2026. NUS said an endowed S$1 million donation would establish a scholarship for students in its Master of Science in Business Analytics programme, while an expendable S$500,000 donation would establish the NUS BAC AI Fund for artificial-intelligence and digital-technology research. (NUS, 7 August 2026, accessed 5 September 2026.)
Scholarship and research focus
The new NUS BAC Excellence Scholarship is intended to provide financial support for outstanding MSBA students; NUS said it would support up to two scholarships in its first year, with potential to grow as the endowment supports future cohorts. The BAC AI Fund will support research in trustworthy AI, meaning AI systems that are safe, reliable and accountable, alongside digital-technology research. (NUS, 7 August 2026, accessed 5 September 2026.)
Institutional context and boundary
The MSBA programme and BAC are joint initiatives of NUS Business School and the NUS School of Computing, combining business and technology expertise. The gift supports NUS education and research; it does not itself create a new degree, guarantee admission or establish that every BAC project is funded by the AI Fund. (NUS, 7 August 2026, accessed 5 September 2026.)
