HTX Scholarship
The HTX Scholarship supports eligible Singaporeans and prospective citizens pursuing STEM undergraduate study for a science-and-technology career with Singapore's Home Team Science and Technology Agency.
HTX Scholarship
The HTX Scholarship is offered by HTX, the Home Team Science and Technology Agency, for a science-and-technology career supporting Home Team operations. The published career track is Specialist – Science & Technology, and the page describes work in areas including science, engineering and digital technology (MHA, page updated 1 September 2026).
Application window and study scope
Applications are open from 1 September 2026 until 15 March 2027. The scholarship supports study at local or overseas universities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics disciplines (MHA, updated 1 September 2026). The MHA page provides an “Apply Now” route through the linked scholarship application service, so the published window is an application period rather than a promise of selection. The course and country fields describe the scholarship’s study scope; they do not mean that every STEM course or institution is automatically approved. Applicants should use the live application page for the complete document, assessment and selection requirements.
Eligibility and support
The published baseline is Singapore citizenship, or Singapore permanent residence with an intention to take up Singapore citizenship, together with leadership potential, strong interest in science and technology and Singapore’s safety and security, good academic and co-curricular records, and an accepted qualification such as A-Levels, the International Baccalaureate, a polytechnic qualification, NUS High School qualification or another high-school diploma or certificate. Current undergraduates who are not in their final year may also apply; the mid-term route requires full-time study, at least second-upper-honours-equivalent progress, and completion of at least one semester (MHA, updated 1 September 2026).
Benefits listed by MHA include tuition fees and approved charges, local or overseas maintenance allowance including accommodation, pre-studies support, return economy airfare for selected scholarship tiers, possible master’s or exchange-programme sponsorship when requirements are met, and a vacation attachment programme. These are published award components, not a promise that every applicant receives every component (MHA, updated 1 September 2026).
HTX career context
HTX develops and delivers science-and-technology capabilities used by Home Team agencies to support functions such as saving lives, securing borders, safeguarding data and systems, and enhancing public safety and security. A scholar therefore enters a specialist career connected to Home Team technology development and operations; the scholarship is not the MHA Uniformed Scholarship and does not itself appoint the recipient to a uniformed service. The page describes varied postings and attachments, professional training, overseas study trips and multidisciplinary project teams as development opportunities, but it does not promise a particular rank, posting, project or future outcome (MHA, HTX Scholarship).
Bond and career pathway
The bond is four years for local studies, five years for studies in non-English-speaking countries, and six years for studies in English-speaking countries. It starts when the scholarship recipient assumes official duty after completing studies (MHA, updated 1 September 2026). The country-of-study category therefore changes the published service period, while the start point remains post-study official duty; the bond is not a period that begins on application, award acceptance or university matriculation. The page does not state that a scholar may freely choose the eventual appointment or posting, so these durations should not be converted into a guaranteed job title, rank or placement.
The HTX page describes varied postings and attachments, professional training, overseas study trips and multidisciplinary project work as development opportunities. Those descriptions do not guarantee a particular rank, posting, appointment or future career outcome (MHA, page updated 1 September 2026).
