Green Mark Version 7.0

Green Mark Version 7.0 is BCA’s next refresh of Singapore’s Green Mark building-certification scheme. BCA describes it as offering more pathways, flexibility and options for projects pursuing lower energy use and carbon outcomes under the Singapore Green Building Masterplan (BCA, updated 2 September 2026).

What is new

Green Mark v7.0 introduces an energy-performance-only pathway, a new SLE70 tier for projects achieving at least 70% energy savings, streamlined maintainability criteria, recognition for alternative cooling technologies, portfolio certification for similar buildings under one parent application, and possible extension of certification validity from three years to five years for sustained performers that continue meeting their energy-use target (BCA, updated 2 September 2026).

The energy-only pathway lists energy-savings levels of 45%, 50%, 55%, 60%, 70% and 100%, corresponding to EE45, EE50, EE55, SLE60, SLE70 and zero-energy (ZE) ratings; the page notes that the 100% level is offset by on-site renewable generation. These are certification pathways and thresholds, not a claim that every building can achieve a particular rating (BCA, updated 2 September 2026).

Roadmap and transition

BCA reports that more than 30 pilot projects were completed during the industry co-creation and criteria-refinement phase, with a planned Green Mark v7.0 launch at the International Built Environment Week on 2 September 2026. The roadmap states that new Green Mark 2021 applications will stop from 1 April 2027 and ongoing Green Mark 2021 projects must be completed by the end of 2027 (BCA, updated 2 September 2026).
