Youth Corps Community Internship 2026
Singapore's Youth Corps Community Internship (YCCI) is a developmental full-time internship programme in the community and social sectors. Participants work with Social Service Agencies, non-governmental organisations or social enterprises while gaining workplace experience and participating in training and community service; the programme is introduced by the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and National Youth Council, with funding through the National Youth Fund (YCCI factsheet, updated 27 March 2026).
Eligibility, allowance and 2026 cycles
For Cycles 14 and 15, the factsheet states that applicants must be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents aged 17–25, be current students or in an education transition, and be available for a five- to six-month full-time internship. The factsheet states a monthly internship allowance of S$800, regardless of educational background (YCCI factsheet, updated 27 March 2026). Cycle 14 starts between 1 August and 20 September 2026, with applications listed as closing on 30 June 2026; Cycle 15 starts between 21 September and 12 October 2026, with applications listed as closing on 7 August 2026. The factsheet's cycle table, rather than a conflicting FAQ date elsewhere in the same document, is the basis for these 2026 dates.
Standard and Leaders Track structure
The standard YCCI track combines the full-time host-organisation internship with a 1.5-day onboarding programme, six full-day skills-training and career-exploration sessions, 12 community-service sessions and a celebration day. The Leaders Track adds specialised leadership training, dedicated mentoring, 20 community-service sessions instead of 12, recognition as a Youth Corps Leader on completion, and possible leadership-development pathways (YCCI factsheet, updated 27 March 2026). Leaders Track applicants additionally need leadership or volunteering experience and must not already be a current Aspirant or conferred Youth Corps Leader.
