#CelebrateAsOneSG
#CelebrateAsOneSG was Singapore's June–August 2026 National Day public- engagement campaign, combining ground-up celebrations with a Pledge Events initiative for citizens and organisations to connect, contribute ideas and co-create towards a refreshed Singapore Dream.
#CelebrateAsOneSG
#CelebrateAsOneSG was Singapore’s public-engagement campaign for the 2026 National Day period. The campaign ran from June to August 2026 and encouraged individuals and communities to mark National Day through personal, community and organisational activities. Participation was not mandatory. It was a participation and outreach campaign, not a new statutory body, social-benefit scheme or general public consultation process (NDP 2026, “What is #CelebrateAsOneSG?”, accessed September 2026).
Campaign activities and partners
The campaign included “Fly Our Flag” and “Wear Our Colours” as personal ways to participate, while communities could organise ground-up celebrations from July through National Day. The official description lists partners including the Ministry of Education, Sport Singapore, Singapore Government Partnerships Office, Singapore Global Network and private-sector organisations. Partner participation shows the campaign’s whole-of-society delivery model; it does not mean every listed organisation administered the campaign or that all residents had to join (NDP 2026, “What is #CelebrateAsOneSG?”, accessed September 2026).
Pledge Events and civic co-creation
The campaign introduced Pledge Events, through which citizens and organisations could connect different segments of society, contribute ideas and co-create solutions toward a refreshed Singapore Dream and stronger community care. Pledge Events therefore belong to the campaign’s public-engagement layer: they are opportunities for participation and idea development, not a promise that the Government must adopt every proposal, a grant application route or an election mechanism (NDP 2026, “What is #CelebrateAsOneSG?”, accessed September 2026).
Relationship to Singapore’s national celebrations
#CelebrateAsOneSG should be distinguished from the National Day Parade, the National Day Message and the National Day Rally. Those are separately defined national events or broadcasts, while the campaign was a distributed public-engagement programme running across several months. The campaign’s connection to National Day does not make every participating activity an official state ceremony, and the official description does not establish a participation total, an individual benefit or a permanent civic institution (NDP 2026, “What is #CelebrateAsOneSG?”, accessed September 2026; gov.sg, National Day Rally 2026, accessed September 2026).
