Wheelchair Rugby Super Week 2026

The inaugural Wheelchair Rugby Super Week took place in Singapore from 18 to 21 June 2026. The event was launched by World Wheelchair Rugby in partnership with the Wheelchair Rugby Association Singapore (WRAS), and focused on building specialist capability around the sport rather than staging a public competition (Inclusive Sport, 18 June 2026).

Training and certification tracks

The official listing describes five tracks: Coaching Level 2, Match Officials, Classifiers, a Mechanic Workshop, and WWR Educators. Together, these tracks cover coaching, officiating, athlete classification, equipment support and the development of educators who can pass on wheelchair-rugby knowledge. The event therefore addressed the sport's operating and development workforce, not only players (Inclusive Sport, 18 June 2026).

Participation and registration boundary

The published registration deadline was 15 May 2026. The listing said Singaporeans could register interest by emailing the stated Sport Singapore contact, while the courses and sign-up information were provided through the event announcement. The deadline and contact route describe participation administration; they do not establish that every applicant was accepted, that certification was automatically awarded, or that the event created a new employment qualification recognised across all sports (Inclusive Sport, 18 June 2026).

Place in Singapore's para-sport system

Wheelchair Rugby Super Week is best understood as an international technical-development event hosted in Singapore. It can strengthen local coaching, officiating, classification and equipment capability, but the public listing does not report participant totals, athlete-selection results, a new Singapore league, or a new funding scheme. It is distinct from mass-participation inclusive events such as Paralympic Day and from routine local training sessions listed on the Inclusive Sport portal (Inclusive Sport, 18 June 2026).
