GetActive! Singapore 2026

The 11th GetActive! Singapore (GASG 2026) was Sport Singapore's nationwide sport and community celebration for Singapore's 61st birthday. It was launched at Our Tampines Hub on 1 August 2026 and ran across two weekends from 25 July to 8 August 2026, offering sporting experiences, community festivals and competitions across Singapore (SportSG, 1 August 2026).

Launch and programme structure

The launch took place alongside Public Service Sports & Family Day. Close to 1,000 participants joined the National Day Observance Ceremony before taking part in the GetActive! Singapore Workout 2026 and sport tryouts including athletics, goalball and table tennis. The 2026 edition also introduced GetActive! Deals, bringing together more than 30 sport businesses with sport, fitness, wellness and retail offers during August (SportSG, 1 August 2026).

These figures describe specific launch activities and partner offers, not the total number of GASG participants or all sport participation in Singapore. GASG should be read as a time-bounded national celebration under SportSG, distinct from year-round ActiveSG membership and programmes (SportSG, 1 August 2026; community sport and participation).

Play Inclusive and disability-sport access

The ninth edition of Play Inclusive took place at Singapore Expo during the GASG period. SportSG reported close to 3,500 participants and volunteers, including nearly 2,100 athletes and Unified Partners, in basketball, goalball and soundball. Athletes and Unified Partners trained together in the weeks leading up to the finale; the programme was co-organised by SportCares, Special Olympics Singapore and the Singapore Disability Sports Council (SportSG, 1 August 2026).

Play Inclusive sits within broader disability-sport efforts supported by the refreshed Disability Sports Master Plan and the Enabling Sports Taskforce. The reported 3,500 figure is for Play Inclusive participants and volunteers, while the 2,100 figure covers athletes and Unified Partners; neither is a national disability-sport participation rate (SportSG, 1 August 2026).

Enabling Sports Fund

The second grant call for the Enabling Sports Fund (ESF) opened on 1 August 2026 for proposals using innovative approaches to make sport more accessible and inclusive for persons with disabilities. SportSG is an Impact Partner for the President's Challenge, and the fund aims to raise at least S$10 million by 2030. Its first cycle, launched in 2025, supported 21 proposals expected to benefit more than 8,000 persons with disabilities across more than 20 sports (SportSG, 1 August 2026).

The ESF call is a proposal and funding mechanism, not an automatic entitlement for every sports organisation or person with a disability. The 8,000-person figure is an expected beneficiary total for the 21 supported proposals in the first cycle, not a count of unique national participants (SportSG, 1 August 2026).

Community and intergenerational activities

GASG 2026 included the third Youth@Play, where close to 800 tertiary students joined sport and friendly competition at Our Tampines Hub, and an ActiveX Playdate that brought together around 500 seniors and primary-school students. The playdate involved seniors from five Active Ageing Centres and students from six primary schools, with adaptive activities such as boccia, ladder toss and seated floorball (SportSG, 1 August 2026).

Other reported GASG components included Pesta Sukan across more than 30 sports, including nine para sports, and the ActiveSG Celebrates! carnivals at five ActiveSG Sport Centres on 8 August. These programme counts and attendance figures belong to the 2026 GASG edition; they should not be substituted for SportSG's wider annual sport-participation statistics (SportSG, 1 August 2026).
