A11y Playground

A11y Playground is a GovTech platform for people working on digital services to learn about accessibility and build more inclusive digital experiences. GovTech launched it on 29 July 2025 as an upgrade from Project Playground, with assessment tools, a technical checklist, real-life user stories and interactive activities (GovTech, 29 July 2025).

What it provides

The platform is aimed at developers, designers, testers, product managers and public officers. Its resources include a Digital Service Standards-aligned checklist, explanations of accessibility practices, user stories and empathy simulations; the current site also links to accessibility learning materials and GovTech’s Oobee testing tool (A11y Playground, accessed 5 September 2026).

Interpretation boundary

A11y Playground is guidance and learning infrastructure for designing and testing digital services. Using its checklist or tools does not by itself certify a website, confer a legal accessibility approval or replace testing with people with disabilities. GovTech’s stated goal is to embed accessibility into product development, not to create a standalone licensing scheme (A11y Playground, accessed 5 September 2026).
