National Simulated Scams Exercise 2026

Singapore's National Simulated Scams Exercise (NSSE) is a Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) pilot supported by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and conducted as part of Exercise SG Ready 2026. The exercise ran from 1 March to 31 August 2026 as an opt-in public-education activity designed to strengthen Digital Defence against evolving scams (CSA, accessed 27 August 2026).

How the simulated exercise works

NSSE focuses on Government Official Impersonation Scams (GOIS). Registered members of the public receive robocalls at some point during the six-month exercise period that simulate common GOIS tactics; after the exercise, participants receive guidance on practical steps to take when encountering those tactics in real life (CSA, accessed 27 August 2026). The calls are simulations for learning, not real scam attempts, and participation does not authorise anyone to request a participant's money, passwords or bank-login details.

Participation and relationship to Exercise SG Ready

NSSE registration opened on 1 February 2026, and CSA worked with public-service agencies and community groups such as Lions Befrienders to extend the exercise to employees and members (CSA, accessed 27 August 2026). NSSE is one component of Exercise SG Ready and supports the Digital Defence and societal-resilience objectives of Total Defence; it is not a new scam-compensation scheme, a general surveillance programme, or a replacement for reporting or scam-prevention channels.
