AI for Cities exhibition 2026
The Urban Redevelopment Authority’s AI for Cities exhibition ran from 3 June to 21 August 2026 at the URA Centre. It presented examples of how artificial intelligence can be applied to urban planning, design and city operations in Singapore (URA, AI for Cities exhibition, accessed 21 August 2026).
What the exhibition covered
URA organised the exhibition around Singapore’s use of data, AI-supported prediction and optimisation, interpretation of the urban environment, and movement towards autonomous and intelligent systems. Its examples included the Singapore Integrated Transport and Energy Model, which the URA page describes as an LTA model integrating large datasets across transport and energy systems. These are examples of planning and operations applications, not a claim that Singapore’s entire city is autonomously managed (URA, AI for Cities exhibition, accessed 21 August 2026).
Relationship to planning and AI policy
The exhibition was a public-facing URA programme about urban applications of AI. It does not itself create a new planning law, development control, AI regulator or statutory approval pathway. Questions about land-use decisions remain governed by Singapore’s planning system and applicable development processes; the exhibition explains technological possibilities rather than replacing those processes (URA, AI for Cities, accessed 21 August 2026; ura and master plan).
