New Charis Mission Reintegration Programmes (2026)

The New Charis Mission (TNCM) supports ex-offender and ex-drug-abuser reintegration through three workstreams described by the Ministry of Home Affairs on 4 September 2026: family restoration, employment pathways and giving back to the community (MHA, 4 September 2026).

Family restoration and employment pathways

TNCM’s Prosocial Lifestyle Programme helps inmates rebuild relationships with loved ones before release and strengthen support structures for rehabilitation and reintegration. TNCM’s social enterprises, including New Charis Enterprise and Charis Cuisines, provide skills and employment pathways in areas such as logistics, facilities management and culinary work. These are TNCM programmes, not universal government entitlements or guaranteed placements (MHA, 4 September 2026).

Giving-back projects and scope boundary

TNCM’s community-giving initiatives include Project Heart of Love and Better Homes @ Central, through which ex-offenders participate in activities such as refurbishing homes for elderly people, supporting low-income families and partnering with Central Singapore CDC to help former rough sleepers transition into safe housing. The MHA speech describes these as examples of TNCM’s community work; it does not establish that every ex-offender, household or rough sleeper is automatically eligible for these projects (MHA, 4 September 2026).
