SAF Live-Firing and Military Exercises September 2026

The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) scheduled live-firing, demolition and military exercises from Monday 7 September to Monday 14 September 2026. MINDEF advised the public not to be alarmed by possible loud noises and to keep clear of the proclaimed live-firing areas, SAF exercise areas and restricted areas (MINDEF, 3 September 2026).

Live-firing areas and maritime safety

Pulau Sudong, Pulau Senang and Pulau Pawai, together with their surrounding waters, are proclaimed live-firing areas. The SAF also scheduled live-firing exercises in the Pasir Laba (SAFTI) Live-Firing Area during the period; vessels using the Western Johor Strait were instructed to remain within the 75-metre Navigable Sea Lane and not enter the live-firing boundary. Live ammunition and flares were to be used (MINDEF, 3 September 2026).

The advisory additionally told the public to stay clear of the prohibited waters off Changi Naval Base and Tuas Naval Base. These are safety instructions for the stated exercise period, not a general closure of Singapore waters or a permanent change to maritime navigation rules (MINDEF, 3 September 2026).

Land exercise locations and legal boundary

Military exercises were scheduled in Seletar, Marsiling, Jalan Bahar, Neo Tiew, Lim Chu Kang, Jalan Kwok Min, Tuas, Upper Jurong, Hong Kah, Ama Keng, Pasir Ris, Bedok, Kranji, Lentor, Simpang, Sembawang and Mandai. The public was advised not to trespass into gazetted areas or SAF restricted areas, including firing grounds; MINDEF states that trespassing constitutes an offence punishable by law (MINDEF, 3 September 2026).

The advisory is a dated activity notice. It identifies the announced period and locations but does not establish that every listed area is active continuously throughout all eight days; the public should follow current on-site controls and later MINDEF notices when planning movement near the affected locations (MINDEF, 3 September 2026).
