Programme and heritage purpose
The announced programme includes Xinyao Lives On!, a concert in the Gardens; EnlighTEN, a light show spanning five iconic spaces; and DNA Unlocked, a hands-on plant-based discovery workshop. NParks frames the festival as examining how historic landscapes and institutional legacy continue to inform stewardship of a living botanical landscape (Singapore Botanic Gardens, updated 20 August 2026, accessed 2 September 2026). These are programme components and interpretive aims, not evidence that the festival changes the Gardens' conservation status or creates a new institution.
UNESCO and the wider celebration
The festival forms part of the year-long Celebrating Singapore Botanic Gardens programme that began in July 2025. The UNESCO anniversary context should not be confused with a new inscription or a change to the Gardens' World Heritage designation.
