NAC–Sangam House Residency 2026
The National Arts Council (NAC)–Sangam House Residency 2026 is a fully funded, one-month, in-person writing residency in Bangalore, India, for up to two Singapore Tamil writers. NAC describes the arrangement as one writer in November and one in December 2026; the programme page says the 2026 applications have concluded (NAC, accessed 27 August 2026).
2026 places, dates and funding
The residency is scheduled for 1–28 November 2026 or 2–30 December 2026, and is hosted in person at The Jamun in Bangalore. The programme is fully funded: NAC lists return economy airfare, visa fees, travel insurance, ground transport, the residency fee covering housing and meals, and a per diem for incidental expenses not covered by Sangam House (NAC, accessed 27 August 2026). These are programme terms for the 2026 residency, not a general entitlement for Singapore writers or a guarantee that all applicants will be selected.
Application status and purpose
The application deadline was 7 August 2026 at 5pm Singapore time, and NAC records the 2026 application programme as concluded. The residency is intended to give visiting writers time and space to write, build professional relationships, and interact with local arts communities; NAC also says a writer's work may have a chance of being translated into English for Sangam House's South Parade literary magazine (NAC, accessed 27 August 2026). The published page does not state that selection guarantees translation or publication.
